Hanley Court Business Centre on the A48 at Tidenham, near Chepstow was launched on Friday 30th May. Local MP, Mark Harper opened the new workspace, which was redeveloped by organic farmer Lyndon Edwards with support from the Rural Renaissance programme.
Mr Edwards, who farms at Severndale Farm and Hanley Court in Tidenham, said: "This new workspace will not only help local businesses expand but it will give them the support they need. Without the substantial investment from Rural Renaissance, which contributes about a third towards the total costs, the project would never have happened.”
The official opening took place between 11am – 12 noon on Friday 30th May, whilst the centre was open for viewing's between 11am – 2pm. Local business were invited to view Hanley Court, particularly those interested in securing a permanent home for their business or people making their first move from a home office environment to commercial premises.
Philip Timson from GEL said: "We are leasing the Hanley Court Business centre from Mr Edwards, and are currently marketing the new site to potential tenants for occupation from May onwards.
"We are taking an innovative approach to supporting local businesses and will offer a tailored support package of advice and information to Hanley Court tenants, to help them grow and develop. This is a first for GEL and something we are very excited about.
"As we have 14 offices available, we're hoping to encourage the growth of quite a self-supporting business community where they can benefit from each other's expertise and perhaps share common resources.
"This all means local people can build their businesses in their community, cutting down on the need to travel to work and creating more jobs locally."
